I have been a teacher since 1998. My first years of teaching were in a hairdressing school in Winnipeg. From 2001 to 2004 I worked as an Education Assistant and as a Job Mentor at RAEC. In 2004 I completed my Bachelor of Education degree and began teaching at RAEC as an English teacher. I completed a Master’s degree in education in 2018, and my research focused on well-being in schools. I am passionate about our environment and have served on the Altona Community Action Network and Boomerang Bags Altona. I care deeply about how we take care of people and our planet, and am interested in finding ways to help students become deeply engaged in their learning. I look forward to working with you!

Rae-Ann Estwick

I am a former RAEC graduate with the class of 2003. I have personally experienced the challenges and victories of being an adult learner. I have worked at RAEC since 2010, I was an educational assistant for 6 years and have taken on the role of administrative assistant for the past 3 years and enjoy it very much. If you have a question, I am a great resource as I am very familiar with most things at RAEC so please don’t be shy to approach me. I am a mom of 5 fun and wild children, 4 of whom are adults now. I am passionate about issues such as feminism, LGBTQ* advocacy and politics. In my free time, I enjoy reading historical fiction, watching my youngest child play hockey and spending as much time as possible with my husband, friends and children.

Lisa Isaak Eisbrenner

I have been teaching at RAEC since 2012. I grew up in the Altona area, and moved back specifically for this – my dream – job. Working in an alternative setting was always my dream, and I feel very fortunate to have been able to make my home at RAEC. I am very passionate about math and science and the teaching of the two, and I am excited to help you discover how you are already a scientist and mathematician!

I parent two young children along with my partner Kris, am a lover of all things nature (except for ticks. I have no love for ticks), and strongly believe in working together with all humans to build a better world for everyone. I am a self-proclaimed intersectional feminist and ally of all marginalized groups and have a wide variety of passions and hobbies that you will probably hear about because I like to share my excitement with others! I look forward to learning about your passions, hobbies, and the things that make you YOU!

Mary Link

My name is Mary Link. I’ve been an Educational Assistant at BLSD since 2011.  I’ve worked at RAEC for 5 years now and prior to that I worked at the Gretna School. I really enjoy my job and feel very privileged to work with great staff. I like to have fun while learning and am passionate about helping students with their academics while caring about their well-being.  My goal as an EA is to help you feel welcome and comfortable in this space, to build relationships and support you in your learning so you can achieve your goals.  I look forward to meeting you and celebrating your achievements.

Coralie Potetz

*On leave for the 2022-2023 school year**
My name is Coralie Potetz and I am a teacher at RAEC. I am originally from Saskatchewan, I moved to Manitoba in 2014 to be closer to family that moved here.

I am also a parent, student, and a wife; I love all of these roles. I have always enjoyed reading and learning so teaching has been a career choice that I’ve never regretted. My favorite books to read are fantasy, pretty much anything with dragons or magic. In addition to reading, I also enjoy painting, walking with my family, and strength training. I love working out and generally try to be healthy but I have a very large sweet tooth.

 Joel Wiebe

Roses are red
Violets are blue
My name is Joel
And I’m a grandfather too!

Sunflowers are yellow
Daisies are white
I play some guitar and piano
But violin… not quite.

Marigolds are orange
Petunias are pink
I’m here at RAEC
To encourage you to think.

Lavenders are mauve
Cockscombs are green
I ride bike to work
And this poem… doesn’t rhyme!

Justin Rempel

My wife and I have recently moved to Plum Coulee, Manitoba. I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies including running, soccer, football, Ultimate Frisbee, chess, reading (graphic novels, poetry, fantasy, and classic literature), writing, and film.
